OPEN POSITIONS: EXECUTIVE BOARD
Science Policy Associate
The associate must have some knowledge in Science and Policy and its effect on our daily lives. He/she must have the verbal and written communication skills necessary to engage members in contemporary debates held during Science Policy Café' meetings. Lastly, he/she must be willing and committed to assisting Dr. Seth Cohen and our Science and Policy Director with starting a two-unit seminar in spring of 2010.

Director of Marketing
UCSD's chapter of The Triple Helix is looking for a marketing director to fill their executive board. Experience is a plus. We are primarily interested in someone who is responsible, good with keeping in touch by email and phone, and willing to put in a little bit of time to get the job done. It is a very high position within the executive board and will be a very rewarding experience.

OPEN POSITIONS: LITERARY STAFF
Literary Writer
The main goal of the writer is to find a scientific issue that is of
pressing concern to society at large and to write about that issue with
passion, clarity, and authority. The writer should strive to argue his
point of view not with clichés or dogmas, but with objective and reputable
research. In addition, the writer must strive to meet all deadlines
and follow through with all corrections assigned by his editors.
Associate Editor
The associate editor must understand the editorial policies of the Triple
Helix and be able to communicate and explain such policies to his/her
writers. The associate editor must ensure that the writers under his/her
charge meet all article requirements by carefully scrutinizing the writer’s
article. Important areas to look for include the importance of the subject,
the strength of the argument, and the references used in support. Lastly,
the associate editor must ensure that all writers meet deadlines set
forth by The Triple Helix literary division by staying in regular communicate
with his/her writers.
